Cutting Edge Network Technologies “SPAM Control” by Sonicwall “Mail Frontier”

Unsolicited email, or SPAM, has become a great problem for individuals and companies alike. The increase of SPAM within the last year alone has more than quadrupled with email recipients spending more and more time sifting through good and bad email, oftentimes having to witness pornographic or otherwise improper content.

To combat SPAM and make Email communications effective once more, Cutting Edge Network Technologies has implemented “SPAM Control” by Sonicwall. This technology is based upon “Mail Frontier”, a leading “Premium” Email Security System that boasts great results with little administration and few “False Positives”.

With “SPAM Control” users receive an email every four hours that shows any “Quarantined” emails that are kept in their “Junk Box”. Users can select to “Unjunk” from this email quickly, or view the email to make sure it is SPAM.

When viewing the email from the “Junk Box Summary”, the email is shown in a secure “Text Only” view that can not harm your computer or show pornographic images”.

To view everything in the “Junk Box”, users can click on the “Visit Junk box” link at the top right of the “Junk box Summary” email.

This takes them straight to their own personal “Junk Box” where they can do the following:

1. View all quarantined email and Delete or Unjunk. (Emails left in the “Junk Box” will be automatically deleted after 15 days)
2. Edit the Junk Box Settings to specify things like what to do with SPAM email, how often to send the Junk Email Summary, view who has been “White Listed” via “Unjunking”
3. Set the “Aggressiveness” of the System for defining an email as SPAM.
4. View overall reporting of the effectiveness of the SPAM Control System.

Known issues:

1. Users with more than one email address will receive multiple different “Junk Summaries”.
2. Users cannot “Delegate” SPAM Control administration.
